Finally Here in Arequipa

Hey all,
I wanted to update you that we did arrive here in Arequipa. We don't have our house yet, but we move in on the 25th of August. It is the house we really wanted brand new with a bunch of room, in a great neighborhood and a little backyard. We will be living in Challapampa (the burbs). We have loads of space and can't wait for visitors!

The job is going well, I am teaching math and technology. (Though tech right now consists of typing boot-camp.) Dan is teaching general 5th grade and History to 7th grade. We have loads to prep for but not a lot to grade obviously. Being that all of our classes are small enough to count on one hand. Dan was asked to join the fantasy baseball league with another staff member and a few of the students. This is only funny if you know how little Dan cares about baseball. So tips are welcome!!!

In case you don't know we took teaching jobs in the Southern part of Peru. We are working for a mining company down here. It is pretty cool to show up have a driver in a nice car to take you around and then get handed your new cell phones. We do feel like we are getting spoiled. Plus there is a maid here at the temporary housing location. That will put us in for a rude awaking when we have to wash our own dishes again!

We are doing well here finally caught up from our 26 hour flying experience to get to Arequipa. Yes we do hate planes at this time. I will post pictures of the house when we move next weekend. We hope you are having a great weekend. And seriously we would love visitors!

Jen and Dan
